David A. Scott, DMD
Dr. Scott received his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the University Of Alabama School Of Dentistry in 1995 and his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Birmingham-Southern College in 1991.
Upon graduation, Dr. Scott was commissioned as a dental officer in the United State Navy where he served on active duty at Marine Corps Air Station El Toro in Orange County, California. In 1998, Dr. Scott opened his private practice and has continued his commitment to providing his patients with the most comprehensive and advanced dental care available. He has focused on cosmetic, implant, and restorative dentistry while ensuring a relaxing, comfortable experience for his patients.
In 1995, Dr. Scott received the University Of Alabama School Of Dentistry Alumni Leadership Award.
In 2002, he was recognized as a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Scott completed well over 500 hours of continuing education and passed a comprehensive written exam. He was the only dentist in the state of Alabama awarded the Fellowship in 2002. He has been a member of the AGD for over 25 years and has served on the Board of Directors of the Alabama Academy of General Dentistry. Additionally, he is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Alabama Dental Association.
Dr. Scott is also a graduate of the prestigious Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies with a focus on cosmetic dentistry and advanced functional aesthetics.
In 2011, Dr. Scott completed a one-year post-graduate implant training program at the University Of Alabama School Of Dentistry focusing on surgical placement and restoration of dental implants.
Dr. Scott and his wife Sonya have two children, Ella Claire (20) and Andrew (18). His interests outside of dentistry include spending time with family traveling, boating, and various outdoor activities.
